Afterschool Care Program

For $6 a Day (membership rate), the YMCA OF PORT ARTHUR afterschool program provides a safe, supportive environment for your child. The YMCA provides experiences to develop and nurture self-esteem in an inclusive environment. Activities include homework time, snack time, games, arts & crafts, indoor and/or outdoor play ad occasional field trips. The YMCA develops character by teaching and demostrating values. We use positive adult role models to teach the four basic values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Download Parent Handbook here. Download Registration form here
Qualified Staff

The YMCA child care staff must complete 15 hours of training annually. They are also CPR and First Aid trained. Satisfactory background checks are required prior to employment for all staff. The YMCA program operates on a 1:15 staff to student ratio.

Hours from dismissal to 5:30 pm for Nederland and Port Neches sites and from dismissal to 6:00 pm for Port Arthur and Groves sites.

Individual Child: $30
Multiple Child: $50
MEMBERS NON-MEMBERS
$30 / week first child $40 / week first child
$25 / week each additional $35 / week each additional

Reasonable affordable fees are offered to provide an opportunity for all children to participate. Our financial assistance sliding fee scale is available to families based on income level. Financial assistance availability is contingent on availability of funds.
